Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using The Sofos ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

Description of Service

The Sofos is a brain gaming and learning platform that offers 15 educational games and interactive physics labs. Our Service includes:

• 15 brain training games covering vocabulary, logic, memory, math, and trivia
• Interactive physics labs with PhET simulations (Forces & Motion, Energy & Work, Momentum & Collisions)
• Daily challenges and streaks
• Progress tracking, badges, and achievements
• Leaderboards

User Accounts

Registration

To access all features of the Service, you must register for an account. You may register with an email and password or use Google Sign-In. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

Free Access and Credits

Free Games and Labs

All 15 brain games and physics labs are free to access. Each user receives one free play per game per day. Free plays reset daily at midnight (UTC).

Credits System

Credits can be purchased to unlock additional plays beyond the daily free allowance. Credits can also be used to recover streaks if you miss a day of playing.

Credit Purchases

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. All prices are in Euros and exclude applicable taxes. Credits are non-refundable except as required by law.

Credit Expiration

Purchased credits do not expire. However, credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred to other users.

User Conduct

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Share your account credentials with others
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free plays or other features
• Attempt to circumvent any content protection or access control measures
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service
• Manipulate scores, leaderboards, or game outcomes through cheating
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service

Intellectual Property

Our Content

All content on The Sofos, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, games, and educational materials, is the property of The Sofos or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

PhET Simulations

Our physics labs integrate PhET Interactive Simulations from the University of Colorado Boulder. These simulations are used under license and are subject to PhET's terms of use.

License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use. This license does not include the right to:

• Download or copy content (except for temporary caching)
• Modify or create derivative works
• Sell, resell, or commercially exploit any content
• Use content for any purpose other than personal learning and entertainment

Gamification Features

Our gamification features, including badges, points, streaks, and leaderboards, are for motivational purposes only and hold no monetary value. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any gamification features at any time without notice.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• The content will be accurate, complete, or current
• Defects will be corrected
• The Service will meet your specific requirements

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SOFOS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Sofos and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or violation of any rights of another.

Content Updates and Changes

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any content, games, labs, or features of the Service at any time without prior notice. We are continuously adding new games and labs and may occasionally modify or update existing content.

Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party sites. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk and subject to their terms and policies.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with Greek law, except where prohibited by law.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and The Sofos regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
